This totem was carved from red cedar and detailed with Santa Fe gold paint and inlaid with abalone shell. It has been carved in the Coast Salish style, with classical stylistic elements mingled with modern forms and the artist's own interpretations. The lightning bolts on the Owl's upper wing symbolize technology, and the tears are the result of the conflict between the knowledge technology can grant, and the wisdom it separates us from.
