Crooked Beak by Cree artist Gene Brabant. This is one of the most dramatic of the Cannibal Bird masks from the Hamatsa, a secret society of high-ranking nobles in the Kwakwaka’wakw Nation.
This mask was carved from red cedar and detailed with acrylic paint, cedar bark, feathers and felted cotton . It features an articulated beak, a fully-worked cedar bark skirt, and an adjustable stand.
Dimensions: 38" L x 11" W x 12" H
It's 55 inches high on the stand (depending on how you position it).
